Amphoe Sang Khom
Nong Khai
About two hours drive from Udon Thani, built on a mountain in the province of Nong Khai, is a Sky Walk. The mountain is located in the administrative district (Amphoe) of Sang Khom and has long been the destination of many tourists who enjoy stunning views of the Mekong from on high.
In April 2016 this tourist attraction was enhanced with another exciting attraction: a glass sky walk for visitors to climb up to and enjoy the wonderful views over the Mekong and mountains from the u-shaped platform.
A U-shaped skywalk at Wat Pha Tak Suea temple in Sangkhom district of Nong Khai province has now been completed. The 16 meter long skywalk, which was built overlooking a cliff, has glass floors and walls. The construction cost a total of 17 million baht. Visitors to the temple can walk along the skywalk to see a breathtaking view below. It can accommodate up to 20 people at a time. It will be open to the public in April.
The skywalk is located on the grounds of Wat Pha Tak Suea (a Buddhist temple) and can be visited from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm daily.
