Fines for traffic violations in Thailand
With no licence, you have no Insurance cover so not good at all if you are in an accident,
The blocking of the fare is 200 baht. A motorcycle (motorbike) without a helmet is 200 baht. Control the vehicle in a state of intoxication – up to one year in prison or a fine of 5,000 to 20,000 baht, disqualification from driving for 6 months.
The following fines operate on the entire territory of the Kingdom and does not vary depending on the cities/provinces:
- Driving without license plate – 400 baht
- The red color of the traffic light – 300 baht
- Reckless driving – 400 baht
- A turn in the wrong place – 400 baht
- Parking in the wrong place – 200 baht (plus evacuation)
- Driving without insurance – 600 baht
- Traffic in the opposite lane – 200 baht
- Driving vehicle without driving license of the corresponding category – 400 baht
- Driving vehicle without registration (registration certificate) – 400 baht
- The blocking of the fare is 200 baht
- A motorcycle (motorbike) without a helmet is 200 baht
- Control the vehicle in a state of intoxication – up to one year in prison or a fine of 5,000 to 20,000 baht, disqualification from driving for 6 months
- Control the vehicle in a drunken state, if it resulted in infliction of injury to others from one to five years in prison or fine of 20 000 to 100 000 baht, disqualification from driving for 1 year
- Control the vehicle in a drunken state, if it led to the infliction of grievous bodily harm to others from two to six years in prison or a fine of 40,000 to 120,000 baht, disqualification from driving for 1 year
- Control the vehicle in a drunken state, if it resulted in infliction of death to other persons – from three to ten years in prison and a fine of 60 000 to 200 000 baht, the cancellation of driver’s license
Keep in mind that in the last year, the authorities of Thailand in a very tough fight with the drunk drivers and organize raids on the roads, not sparing including tourists. The permissible content of alcohol in the blood, if you are up to 24 years – 0%, from 24 years and above are allowed to 0.05%
