Udon Thani International School Review

Since opening four years ago, Udon Thani’s only international school has expanded to offer a complete early years and primary curriculum to families looking for a British education.

There’s very little choice of international schools in northeast Thailand – and Udon Thani International School is certainly one of the most popular with expats. Established in 2014, Udon Thani currently has seven classes open from nursery through to Year 6. There are also plans to open a middle and high school based on demand.

With its fairytale-like castle turrets, the Udon Thani campus has a friendly and cosy environment. The school follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and  National Curriculum for England, with the addition of Thai language & culture and Chinese for all levels. Looking ahead, Udon Thani is a candidate school for the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), so watch this space for a switch to a more IB-led curriculum.

Class sizes are fairly low, and there’s a maximum teacher-student ratio of 1:7 in early years and 1:12 in primary.
